Many Hausa men see marriage as a gift a man gives to a woman- Nigerian writer, Hauwa Mohammed, says

A Nigerian writer, Hauwa Sam Mohammed, who is from the Northern part of Nigeria, has done a thread about the ills of child marriage in the region and how men see women and the institution called marriage.

Hauwa in her tweets, opined that men in the region think they are doing women a favour when they marry them and that most people now see marriage as a gift a man gives to a woman.



She went further to say that if the Hausa man is the owner of heaven, most of the women who he looks to be underneath him, will not gain access there.
