Engagement Ring Rule Every Woman Should Know Before “The Proposal”

After dating for a while, you have both now decided that you want to spend the rest of your lives together. Nice one! Congratulations you made it lol. Count yourself amongst the lucky women out there. Not many do these days due to generational problems. The next thing now is for your partner to propose to you and “put a ring on it”.
So, what’s the rule to choosing an Engagement ring to be proposed to with regardless of your taste?. Even if you are a modern, classic or even edgy bride-to-be. These five steps below still apply to you while your partner is considering purchasing an engagement ring.
1. Setting a realistic Budget
2. Choosing a diamond Setting
3. Finding the Right Diamond
4. Selecting Band Color
5. Certification of the diamond ring to ensure its real & worth the price.
An engagement ring is made up of three separate elements. First is “the Diamond” about the 4C’s and shape; then “the setting” which is how the diamond is fixed on the band; and then finally, “the band” popularly known as the wedding band.
The Diamond is actually the most important part of the engagement ring and where most of the money is usually spent while purchasing. This usually represents how much your other half loves you and how much you’re worth to him. The quality of the diamond is indicated in how it sparkles and shines as demonstrated by the 4C’s.
They 4C’s are as follows:
Colour – the more colourless the Diamond, the more beautiful the gem.
Carat Weight -the heavier the stone, the greater the cost. If you care about size, then 0.5 – 1.2 Carat weight is ideal.
Clarity – this is about diamond inclusions or blemishes. Anything above 11 will be fine if your budget permits.
Finally, consider the grade of the diamond as we as Certification.
Did You Know that the traditional rule of thumb for the groom-to-be is to budget and save to spend up to  his one to three month’s salary on the engagement ring? However, due to change in the structure of our society and shift of priorities, that rule has fallen out of favour. Couples are now making their own rules up as they go along. Some are even customising their rings or choosing to have wedding rings made from turquoise and onyx. The more modern couple is even having matching ring tattoos instead of buying a ring to signify their lifetime commitment to one another.
So are you going to tell your husband-to-be about this rule, or you care less? Let us know your thoughts.
